School Holiday Workshop Outline (2 Hour Session)
To Begin (40 - 50mins)
This session introduces participants to some of our native wildlife and the habitats they live. We will introduce some of our insects, frogs and lizards. We will then discuss as a group the adaptations they have which allows them to live in the habitats around Australia. We do interactive games where attendees will guess animal sounds along with getting creative by recreating animal shapes with nature based materials.
Students can take a break here before commencing the art component
Art Session (45mins)
In this session, attendees will decide which type of animal and habitat they would like to build. Using clay to mold and create their animal, they will then select the materials they want to use to design their habitat dioramas. All materials supplied will be natured based and eco friendly. We will continue the discussion about why certain elements need to be included.
